Congressman Ryan Zinke is defending the Trump Administration’s proposed cuts to Medicaid and SNAP this week, insisting “people who deserve benefits are going to get the benefits”.
Zinke appeared on News Nation this week, going on the record to share his enthusiastic support for the catastrophic slashes to Medicaid and SNAP, two vital programs that millions of Americans rely on for quality, affordable health care and to put food on the table.
“The cuts Republicans are introducing to Medicaid and SNAP are both evil and cruel– that’s why Republicans are insisting on having these discussions in the middle of the night while Americans are fast asleep,” said Interim Executive Director of the Montana Democratic Party Justin Ailport. “Make no mistake– Zinke is supporting cuts that would decimate rural health care systems, throw people off their health insurance, and put vulnerable Montanans at risk for losing the care they need to survive. Don’t be fooled, Zinke and Trump’s cronies are putting millions at risk so billionaires get a tax break.”
