Helena, MT –  New national reporting about a dangerous plan to invade privacy and allow state governments to obtain the private medical records of residents who seek reproductive health care outside of the states where they live is raising some serious questions for Governor Greg Gianforte:

  1. Do you believe that government should be allowed to access private medical records of women and girls crossing state lines seeking abortion in states where it’s legal, for criminal investigation?

  2. Do you believe that government should be allowed to monitor the private medical records of all Montanans?

“Montanans have never wanted the government involved in their private health care decisions,” said Executive Director of the Montana Democratic Party, Sheila Hogan. “With his dangerous record of attacking reproductive freedom for Montana’s women and girls, Montanans deserve to know if Greg Gianforte agrees that doctors should have to turn over their patients’ private medical records to allow politicians to snoop on their citizens and criminalize women for seeking the care they need.”
