Zinke has a long history of voting against women

Helena, MT – Ryan Zinke, candidate for Montanan’s Western congressional district, has a long track record of supporting, promoting, and voting for anti-choice legislation, throughout his scandal-plagued career in politics.

Zinke carried the Fetal Homicide Bill for Montana Right to Life, while he served in the state senate, for which he received praise from the Montana Director of the National Right to Life Board of Directors. Ryan also received a 100 percent voting record with National Right to Life while he served in Congress.

In his 2014 congressional campaign, during which he was questioned on his anti-abortion bonafides, Ryan said “I find it ironic that no one has worked harder on an issue that I’m getting attacked for,” bragging about how passionately anti-choice he is.

At the only debate Ryan Zinke has attended on the campaign trail this year, he solidified his support of government intrusion into personal health care decisions by wagging his finger at the audience and saying “privacy has limits.” Zinke hasn’t explained what additional government intrusions into our personal privacy he supports, beyond government control of a woman’s private medical decisions.

“While serving in Congress, Ryan Zinke voted against women’s privacy over their use of contraception, voted to defund women’s health care services, and voted to ban all abortions after 20 weeks,” says Sheila Hogan, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party. No one works harder to strip rights away from women than Ryan Zinke. But don’t take our word for it– he has said so himself.”
