Rosendale Is a Coward in the Face of Authoritarianism

Helena, MT – Rep. Matt Rosendale is so extreme, he has left his party far behind him on his single-minded crusade against Democracy. He has, again and again, acquiesced to and uncritically promoted authoritarianism.
He refused to condemn Russia’s unprovoked acts of war against a Democracy,
He refused to join with 426 of his colleagues in a resolution of support for Ukraine, as it was being invaded by Russia, their neighboring authoritarian power. He even went as far as to introduce a bill to withhold aid to Ukraine.
His anti-democracy proclivities are not only for the international stage. He’s brought them home with him.
Rep. Matt Rosendale undermined American democracy by flaming the Jan 6th insurrection attempt, by pushing false, inaccurate statements.
He voted to throw out duly cast American votes
He failed to condemn the violence, investigate and hold insurrectionists accountable.
“Let’s call an ace an ace. Matt Rosendale is a coward who bows in the face of authoritarian power, whether it be US insurrectionists or Putin,” says Sheila Hogan, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party. “Democracy is not safe in his hands.”
