Helena, MT - Lee Newspapers is reporting this week that Congressman Ryan Zinke will host in-person “mobile office hours” across Western Montana beginning September 30th. Here’s the catch: Congressman Ryan Zinke won’t actually be there.

According to Lee Newspapers, Zinke is throwing his staff to the wolves, making them available to support constituents and help them sort through federal processes worsened by the Trump administration and his Republican enablers in Congress.

The Montana Democratic Party is quoted in the reporting, highlighting Montana’s all-Republican congressional delegation’s refusal to host in-person events during the August recess to meet directly with constituents.

"Montana’s congressional delegation has been on recess for nearly a month, yet none of our Republican leaders have held a single public town hall to hear directly from their constituents."

“It’s almost comical that Zinke’s office is making headlines for simply opening up its doors to help constituents deal with the consequences of the Trump administration’s dumpster fire– it’s the absolute least they can do,” said Interim Executive Director Justin Ailport. “Zinke has supported Trump's harmful and chaotic policy moves every step of the way and bears responsibility for the administrative nightmares unfolding across the state that are harming working Montanans and their families.”
