Helena, MT – CNBC is reporting this week that Montana ranks near the bottom in its annual report of top states to do business, evaluating categories ranging from the economy, infrastructure, workforce, cost of doing business, and beyond. Since Gianforte took office in 2021, Montana’s standing has declined steadily from 34th to 48th, nearly last place.
Over the years, Gianforte has touted tax cuts, as well as start-up formation and job creation in Montana. Despite this, Montana’s business appeal ranks near the bottom in the country and Gianforte is the common denominator.
“Gianforte’s ‘pro-business’ rhetoric is a bunch of baloney,” said Interim Executive Director of the Montana Democratic Party Justin Ailport. “Make no mistake: Montana’s ranking is a direct outcome of Gianforte’s poor economic policies and bad leadership.”
