Helena, MT – Following a 30-day public comment period, the Montana Democratic Party adopted a plan yesterday for how delegates from Montana will be selected to attend the 2024 Democratic National Convention. The national convention will be held in Chicago, Ill., in August 2024, when delegates from Montana and across the country will nominate the Democratic presidential candidate for the 2024 election.

Montana’s Delegate Selection Convention will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, according to the 2024 Montana Presidential Delegate Selection Plan adopted yesterday and submitted to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) today.

Montana sends a total of 22 delegates and two alternates to the national convention, along with three standing committee members (one each) for the Democratic National Committee’s credentials, platform, and rules committees.

The DNC will begin a review process of Montana’s Presidential Delegate Selection Plan. A press kit will be available in September that will include a summary of rules and information related to the delegate selection process.
