Helena, MT– The Montana Democratic Party released the following statement on the passing of Congressman Pat Williams:

“The Montana Democratic Party is saddened to learn about the passing of our friend and former congressman, Pat Williams –  a great public servant and leader who dedicated his life to us, the people of Montana.

A Butte native, Pat began his political career representing Butte-Silver Bow County in the Montana Legislature. He went on to serve eighteen years in the U.S. House, leaving a legacy of championing labor rights, Montana’s wilderness areas, education, and the arts.

Pat was known for his joyful spirit and his deep commitment to improving the lives of Montanans. He was a true statesman who was dedicated to his family, friends, and constituents throughout his entire life.”
