ICYMI: Judge Rules AG Knudsen Illegally Barred Veterans From Public Park

Helena, MT — Lee News reports that a District Court Judge ruled against Attorney General Austin Knudsen’s drawn out effort to prevent veterans from accessing a 35 acre public park located along the Missouri River in Culbertson.

This ruling should come as no surprise. In the Montana Legislature, Austin Knudsen personally killed a bill that would increase fines for people who block access to public roads. Knudsen also voted for a bill that would have blocked Montana from acquiring public lands, voted to restrict access to public streams, and voted to defund Habitat Montana — the successful conservation program that even Republican former AG Tim Fox promised to fully fund if he was elected Governor.

“This ruling reaffirms what we knew to be true before Attorney General Knudsen was elected — Knudsen failed our Montana veterans and blocked access to the public spaces that make Montana the Last Best Place.” said Sandi Luckey, Executive Director of the Montana Democratic Party. “It’s unconscionable.”
