MDLCC (Montana Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee) Regional Field Staffer
 
Job Description
The MDLCC Regional Field staffer will work as a member of the Montana Democratic Party’s team dedicating to electing legislative candidates. The position will involve recruiting legislative candidates, building relationships with local leaders and allies, strengthening County Central Committees, and managing targeted campaigns. The position will work closely with the MDLCC Director to provide support and resources to candidates, including managing mail, volunteers, campaign budgets and communication.
 
Responsibilities:
·         Recruiting candidates by working with local Democratic organizations and allies
·         Cultivating relationships with community leaders, allies, and members of local organizations to build support for candidates
·         Develop campaign plans for candidates in targeted races
·         Strengthen local Democratic organizations through community outreach and increase mobilization of activists
·         Manage voter file (VAN) for targeted candidates
·         Provide day-to-day support to candidates and execute campaign plans
·         Work with staff and local organizations/supporters to organize events (fundraising, media, field)
·         Build legislative district profiles for targeted districts (includes voting statistics, opposition research, demographic information, etc…)
 
Job Qualifications:
·         Previous experience in political campaigns
·         Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
·          Willingness to work long and irregular hours needed to meet campaign demands
·         Experience with database and computer-based tracking tools
·          Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
·          Ability to work well and work creatively under tight deadlines, in a team environment and independently.
·         Knowledge of and experience in political landscape of Montana.
