Montana Democratic Party Fills Key Positions Lays groundwork for success in 2010

(Helena) -  The Montana Democratic Party (MDP)  announced today that it will fill two key staff positions. Chris Laslovich will be Director of the Montana Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (MDLCC) and Christiana Schweitzer will be Party Fundraiser.
“I am so pleased to bring Chris and Christiana on board as part of our team,” said David Benson, Executive Director of the Montana Democratic Party. “Their talents and understanding of Montana values will be a great asset to our work, and will help us build on our successes as a Party.”
Chris Laslovich, from Missoula, joins the MDP after recently working as an organizer for SEIU Healthcare 775NW, a long-term careworkers union. Laslovich has worked for the Montana Democratic Party in many capacities in the past, including as Field Director, canvasser, and legislative aide.
Christiana Schweitzer joins the MDP as Fundraiser. Schweitzer most recently helped to elect candidates for the Montana Conservation Voters after returning to the state after spending two years in Germany. In 2006, she was fundraiser for the MDLCC. Schweitzer is from Helena and attended Carroll College.
Laslovich and Schweitzer join existing staffers David Benson, Executive Director, and Kate Downen, Communications Director.
Additionally, Trent Bolger advances from his position as Compliance Director to Party Affairs Director. Bolger, who attended Carroll College, has worked for the Montana Democratic Party for a year and a half.
