Rehberg Votes Against 9/11 Heroes...Again

Helena, Mont.-- Doug Neil, political director of the Montana State Fireman's Association, released the following statement after Congressman Dennis Rehberg voted against legislation to provide health care for the heroes who responded to the attacks of September 11, 2001:

"Congressman Rehberg has lost touch with the real danger that firefighters and emergency responders face every day across Montana and our country. Word can't even begin to describe how disappointed we are, and we hope he won't continue to put politics above doing what's right for the folks who put their lives on the line as emergency responders."

Rehebrg also voted against this legislation on July 29, only days after suing Billings firefighters for trying to put out his wildfire on his subdivision in 2008. Ted Dick, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party added:

"Continually voting against Montana is nothing new for Dennis Rehberg because that's what his party leaders tell him to do. But voting against the first responders who saved lives on September 11th is a disgrace. His lawsuit against Billings firefighters was a sucker punch, and today's vote is a knife in the back of all men and women who serve our country as emergency workers."
