Rehberg Thinks He Isn't "Business as Usual"? Think Again!

Helena, Mont.-- Ted Dick, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party, released the following statement in response to Congressman Dennis Rehberg's attempt today to tell Montanans that he is not part of the "business-as-usual mentality of Congress":

"Let's get this straight: Congressman Dennis Rehberg squandered a $130 billion budget surplus the first year after he was elected to the House. He voted to give himself a pay raise every year he was in the majority. He thought it was okay to vote for two wars without paying for them. Just weeks ago he voted for the largest tax increase in American history. And he earned the title of the top earmarker just before his party bosses told him he had to be against earmarks. Congressman Rehberg pretending he's not part of the "business-as-usual mentality" is as ridiculous as calling a drunk-driving crash an 'accident.'"
