MDP Statement on Rehberg's Appointment

Helena, Mont.-- Ted Dick, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party, released the following statement in response to Congressman Dennis Rehberg's appointment to lead the House Labor, Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee:

"Our congratulations to Congressman Rehberg on his appointment. He has a long, well-known history of requesting earmarks through this subcommittee. But we do hope that he doesn't use his new position to try and privatize Social Security or destroy Medicare as he has done in the past."
