Zinke wants to be Trump's Vice President. Really.
HELENA -- If you didn't already doubt Ryan Zinke's commitment to Montana, his latest self-aggrandizing talk of becoming vice president under Donald Trump makes it crystal clear just how out-of-touch he is with Montanans, and how quickly he's worked to become just another Washington, D.C. insider.
"I know my name has been thrown around, and I would be honored to the duty in whatever capacity that is,” Zinke told Breitbart. "I would be honored to do my duty. You know why? It’s about making America great again."
Zinke, who has only been in Congress for one year and five months, already launched a failed-bid to be Speaker of the House. Now, he's so uninterested in representing Montana in Congress, Zinke is dreaming of being Trump's running mate.
"Ryan Zinke is clearly interested in only one thing: Ryan Zinke," said Nancy Keenan, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party. "Montanans deserve a leader in Congress who is committed to serving the people of Montana. Denise Juneau isn't interested in becoming Speaker, Vice President, or landing a Hollywood book deal. Denise is running for Congress to represent all Montanans in the U.S. House, and to fight for better paying jobs, quality schools, and protecting our public lands."
