Statement from the Montana Democrats on the death of Mignon Waterman
HELENA -- On Thursday, Montana lost a longtime Democratic activist and public servant with the death of Mignon Waterman. She was 72.
Waterman represented Helena as a Democratic State Senator in the Montana Legislature for 12 years. But her service extended far beyond her time in the Legislature. She was involved in many statewide and local non-profit organizations -- everything from Helena’s Grandstreet Theatre to the Montana Healthcare Foundation.
“Mignon was a true public servant who committed her life to improving her community and our state through her presence, her voice and her votes,” said Nancy Keenan, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party. “We are all better people for having known and worked with Mignon all these years. Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband, Ron, and the entire Waterman family during this difficult time.”
