Statement from Executive Director Nancy Keenan on Montana Democrats moving forward
"Gov. Steve Bullock’s leadership will be important for all Montanans over the next four years.
Montanans owe a debt of gratitude to the Democratic candidates who have lead this state and stepped up to the plate to run for statewide office.
Denise Juneau has been a trailblazer from the beginning and has shattered glass ceilings along the way. She serves as a shining example of a great Montana leader. Her courage, intellect and spirit inspired us all. Denise will continue to do great things.
Monica Lindeen has been a dedicated public servant as a state legislator and as our State Auditor for the last eight years. We thank her for her leadership and long and distinguished record of service in Montana.
Though still a young man, Jesse Laslovich has compiled a remarkable record of achievement for the state of Montana as a legislator and chief legal counsel in the State Auditor’s office. He has always fought for the best interests of every Montanan and I’m confident he’ll continue to do so.
Melissa Romano would have been a strong State Superintendent of Schools because of her passion for students and public education. She will continue to be a leader in her field and make a difference.
We thank Larry Jent for his public service as a legislator and as a candidate for Attorney General. Larry has always been willing to take on a fight and is a strong voice for working Montanans.
Although disappointed with the outcomes of last night’s results, we will roll up our sleeves and get back to fighting for the values we hold dear: respect, equality and inclusion."
