Senator Daines Pulls Support from New Jersey Gianforte with Montana Speech
Senator Daines said only Montanans are best at running Montana
HELENA- In a speech titled “Montanans are best at running Montana,” Senator Steve Daines today said that only Montanans can run Montana and represent them in Washington D.C. This can only mean that Senator Daines is pulling his support from New Jersey multimillionaire Greg Gianforte.
At his address to the state legislature, Senator Steve Daines stated:
“We are at a unique moment in history that many of us haven’t seen in a long time – a moment when Washington is ready to listen, rather than dictate. A moment when Washington understands this most important principle: Montanans are best at running Montana.”
Senator Steve Daines therefore must have a problem with Greg Gianforte, who moved to Montana from New Jersey, wanting to serve in the U.S. House.
Gianforte spent over $6 million in his failed bid for governor trying to convince Montanans that he came to Montana “as fast as he could” and even sent a “cease and desist” letter to TV stations to pull ads stating the fact that he came to Montana from New Jersey.
A Montana television station later rejected Gianforte’s complaint, responding that Gianforte did in fact “spend numerous years” in New Jersey.
