Gianforte Believes Public Schools are a “Failed Experiment” and “a Monopoly”
HELENA – Today the Montana Democratic Party released the below video highlighting New Jersey multimillionaire Greg Gianforte’s out-of-the-mainstream education plans for our state and his dangerous agenda to slash millions in funding from public schools.
“Add the Montana public education system to the list of things that New Jersey multimillionaire Greg Gianforte can’t be trusted with,” said Jason Pitt, a spokesperson for the Montana Democratic Party. “Gianforte’s out-of-touch and dangerous plans for public education are a direct threat to our Montana values.”
Gianforte’s public education agenda is a threat to educators, students, and public schools:
- Gianforte’s Petra Academy, of which he serves as chairman, called public schools “a failed experiment” in their newsletter.
- In April, educators criticized Gianforte
’s 406 Tax Plan, which wouldtake away $33 million from local schools to give tax breaks that benefit the wealthy and out-of-state corporations.
- In a radio interview with KMMS, Gianforte called public schools “a monopoly,” further claiming that they do not produce the best product.
