New Video: Gianforte Caught Slamming Montana's Native Communities Behind Closed Doors

Gianforte Believes Indian Country Lacks “Basic Things That Are Required For a Free Market to Prosper”

Today the Montana Democratic Party released the below video exposing discriminatory remarks made by New Jersey multimillionaire Greg Gianforte about Montana's Indian reservations.

“These discriminatory, offensive comments from New Jersey multimillionaire Greg Gianforte show his true colors,” said Jason Pitt, a spokesperson for the Montana Democratic Party. “Gianforte clearly doesn’t understand Montana values and he would rather tear down Montana's Native Communities than work with them to find solutions."

Greg Gianforte has failed to support Indian Country by:
  • Refused to support the bipartisan CSKT water compact at a campaign stop.
  • Supported legislators who voted against the CSKT water compact.
  • Selected Lesley Robinson as his running mate.
Video transcript:

Greg Gianforte: "There are some basic things that are required for a free market to prosper and some of these things don't exist on our reservations. Consistent rule of law. Respect of property rights. A lack of nepotism. The ability to keep the fruits of your labor. And a cultural norm that celebrates success.

"These things exist in very limited forms on these reservations."
