Montana Democrats Demand Fagg Immediately Disclose Secret Donors to His Shadow Campaign
Helena – Russell Fagg ran an unethical shadow campaign for U.S. Senate for almost four months, during which he has been raising money from secret donors. During his campaign announcement over the weekend, he said that roughly 400 people donated to his exploratory committee while he was a sitting judge
Now, with an FEC complaint pending against him, Fagg is officially a candidate for Senate, and as such, he should immediately disclose every contributor to his campaign.
All of Fagg’s GOP primary opponents are disclosing via FEC reports how much money they have received over this same period of time, while Fagg won’t have to disclose it until next year.
And if Fagg was truly concerned about being transparent with the voters he is trying to represent, he would disclose these contributors immediately.
“For months, Russell Fagg has been deceiving Montana voters,” said Chris Meagher, spokesman for the Montana Democratic Party. “If Fagg truly had nothing to hide, and was truly concerned about being transparent with the voters he is trying to represent, he would disclose these contributors immediately.”
