Montana Democrats Announce Special Nominating Convention March 5


HELENA -- The Montana Democratic Party will hold a special nominating convention on Sunday, March 5, in Helena to select the party’s candidate for the U.S. House seat vacated by Ryan Zinke.

Congressman Zinke was selected as President Trump’s Secretary of the Interior by the U.S. Senate this morning and resigned his seat.

The special nominating convention will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday in the ballroom at the Best Western Premier Great Northern Hotel, 835 Great Northern Boulevard, in Helena.

Any member of the media wishing to cover the convention must RSVP to Kristen Cates Communications Director at the Montana Democratic Party, by noon on Friday, March 3 (kristen@montanademocrats.org).

Check-in for delegates begins at 8:30 a.m. and the press check-in begins at 9 a.m..

The convention is also open to the public, however, no one will be able to enter the delegate area or press areas without proper credentials.

Candidates who have announced their intention to run for the Democratic nomination so far are: Amanda Curtis, John Meyer, Kelly McCarthy, Link Neimark, Rob Quist, Gary Stein, Tom Weida and Dan West.
