Gianforte Refuses to Say How Much He Will Spend to Buy House Seat

New Jersey millionaire spent over $6 million in failed bid for governor

HELENA-This week New Jersey multi-millionaire and failed candidate for governor, Greg Gianforte refused to say how much of his vast personal fortune he was going to spend in the race for the U.S. House seat.

When asked in an interview with KTVQ in Billings how much he was going to spend of his own money to buy the congressional seat, Gianforte “deflected” saying “I don’t know for sure.”

“Once again Gianforte thinks Montana is for sale,” said Nancy Keenan, Executive Director of the Montana Democratic Party. "Montana’s House seat is not a consolation prize for losing the governor’s race and Montanans will not stand for out-of-state millionaires coming in trying to buy elections."

Gianforte spent over $6 million dollars of his own money in his failed bid for governor.  He supports the controversial Citizens United decision which allows unlimited corporate money to be poured into our elections and has funded the very organization behind Citizens United.

Rob Quist announced his support to finally overturn the unpopular and controversial Citizens United decision. Gianforte has refused to follow suit.
