Gianforte on equal pay: 'Need to look and see'

Candidate punts on simple concept of equal pay for equal work

While New Jersey multimillionaire Greg Gianforte has been consistent in his attempts to mislead Montanans on the issues, one issue he is very clear on is his opposition to the Paycheck Fairness Act.

At the Missoula City Club today, when asked if he supports the Paycheck Fairness Act, Gianforte again avoided supporting the legislation by saying: "we need to look and see what the legislature comes up with."

Here is the link to the Paycheck Fairness Act, which will be reintroduced by Sen. Diane Sands next legislative session. Steve Bullock supports this legislation.

"New Jersey multimillionaire Greg Gianforte's constant refusal to support the Paycheck Fairness Act hurts Montana women," Kristen Cates, Communications Director for the Montana Democratic Party. "The Paycheck Fairness Act is online, why doesn't Gianforte look at it? Montana needs a leader like Steve Bullock who is fighting for middle-class working families and is committed to closing the wage gap in Montana."

Last week, Montana legislators slammed Gianforte for refusing to support the Paycheck Fairness Act.
