Do Montanans really have to wait ANOTHER day for a jobs bill?
HELENA -- Montanans have been waiting 100 days for a jobs bill and now Republicans on the House Appropriations committee are going to make sure they wait at least one more.
The House Appropriations committee has had the bipartisan Senate Bill 367 in front of them since April 1, but has yet to take action.
SB 367 promises to create countless jobs while improving our roads, water systems and schools across the state.
“Montanans were ready to get to work 100 days ago,” said Nancy Keenan, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party. “What is the hold up? House Republican leaders needs to quit stalling and get to work so the rest of Montana can.”
In 2015, a bipartisan infrastructure package passed the Senate 47-3. But on the last day of the Legislature, a few irresponsible Republicans in the House put politics ahead of hardworking Montanans and killed infrastructure by a single vote.
