Congressman Zinke has failed to protect Montana women’s health
Congressman Ryan Zinke appears to be suffering from amnesia.
While the one-term Congressman visits a women’s health facility on the campaign trail, he seems to have forgotten his own egregious voting record when it comes to women and basic health care services.
Congressman Zinke voted five times to de-fund health care services upon which thousands of Montana women and families rely.
Since the Congressman’s memory is so foggy, here’s a reminder of his votes.
- Congressman Zinke Voted to Overturn a Law that Protected Contraception Usage: Zinke voted for repealing the action of the District of Columbia Council in approving the Reproductive Health Non-Discrimination Amendment Act of 2014. [HR 596, Vote #194, 4/30/15; CQ House Action Report, 4/29/15]
- Congressman Zinke Voted to Repeal Portions of the ACA and Block Funding for Planned Parenthood: In October 2015, Zinke voted to repeal portions of the 2010 Affordable Care Act. In February 2016, Zinke voted to override President Obama’s veto of the repeal bill. [CQ, 10/23/15; H.R. 3762, Vote 568, 10/23/15; CQ, 2/2/16; H.R. 3762, Vote 53, 2/2/16]

“Congressman Zinke is trying to hide from his anti-women voting record,” said Nancy Keenan, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party. “The reality is, Congressman Zinke has cut funding from clinics that provide basic, necessary, preventative health services such as mammogram screenings for women across this state. Montana women know who will stand up for them. Her name is Denise Juneau.”
