Zinke's Bad Habit: Blaming, Calling Women Names
Zinke unclear on a woman’s right to make own healthcare decisions
(Helena, MT) – Once again Ryan Zinke’s inconsistent statements have him in hot water, but this time it’s not for illegally coordinating with the Super PAC he founded. This time, it’s about Zinke’s consistent record of flip-flopping on a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions.
Zinke has claimed he is 100% pro-life throughout his primary campaign. However, in a recent interview with representatives from Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC), Zinke said he supports abortion up to 20 weeks.
The discrepancy in his position has lead CWALAC to question where Ryan Zinke truly stands and are now asking Zinke to sign a “Pro-Life Pledge”.
Zinke has employed an interesting strategy of dealing with women who are concerned about his inconsistent record. In Missoula, he dodged a pro-choice woman who simply asked him to clarify his stance. Then, he called a group of pro-life women in Billings "liars".
“Ignoring questions and calling women liars are not the best ways to defend a stance, but for Ryan Zinke that may have been his only option. Zinke flipped and flopped and then flipped and flopped again on a woman’s right to choose. At this point, no one really knows where he stands. The only thing consistent about former SOFA PAC chairman Ryan Zinke is his troubling pattern of blaming and shaming women,” said Andrea Marcoccio, executive director of the Montana Democratic Party.
This isn’t the first time Ryan Zinke has resorted to demeaning women. Earlier this year, Zinke called former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, the Anti-Christ. He also said women were “unfit” to serve in combat missions.
