Rep. Zinke Puts Politics Ahead of Montana's Women
Zinke votes to eliminate important women's healthcare funding
Today, Congressman Ryan Zinke put his own political agenda ahead of the needs of Montanans as he voted to block all funding from the women's health care provider, Planned Parenthood.
"Congressman Zinke will stop at nothing to make sure that he and the federal government are the ones making a woman's health care decisions," said Nancy Keenan, Executive Director of the Montana Democratic Party. "Women in Montana are fully capable of making their own health care decisions and don't need Congressman Zinke or any politician interfering. It's absolutely shameful that the Congressman would put his own extreme political agenda ahead of the needs of Montana's women."
Planned Parenthood is an important provider of health care services, such as breast and cervical cancer screenings, to women across Montana. The Defund Planned Parenthood Act would remove all federal funding for Planned Parenthood of Montana.
