RECAP: Daines Dishonesty Tracker Continues to Tick
Congressman Continues to Say One Thing, Do Another
(Helena, MT) – The Daines Dishonesty Tracker jumped to 16 dishonest statements this week as Congressman Steve Daines continues the doublespeak on his damaging record against Montanans.
Daines released a new ad claiming support for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, but once again, Daines’ words don’t match his actions. In the ad, he touts a single vote for the Violence Against Women Act, but fails to mention that he voted against the necessary funding those programs need to serve the victims he claims to protect.
“Congressman Daines claims to be looking out for what’s best for Montana, but it’s clear that he will say whatever it takes to get elected,” said Bryan Watt, spokesperson for the Montana Democratic Party. “It’s time to hold our congressman accountable for his deceitful and damaging record that puts millionaires and corporations above Montanans.”
The Dishonesty Tracker also added new claims this week about Daines' work in China where he helped set up factories while his company closed U.S. plants and fired 4,000 American workers.
