10 days, 10 ways MT Dems support you; Day 7: Public Education
With just days left until Election Day, when it comes to getting things done on behalf of all Montanans, the Montana Democrats are hard at work. In case you missed it, here's what we have fought for and will always fight for.
Montana’s Democrats take our Constitutional obligation to provide adequately-funded, high-quality public education to all Montanans seriously. We believe a well-educated student creates a better economy for all Montanans.
Under our leadership:
Graduation rates have hit an all-time high of 86 percent thanks to State Superintendent and U.S. House Candidate Denise Juneau’s Graduation Matters Montana initiative that brings community partners to the table to find solutions for students.
Governor Steve Bullock has championed historic investments in our K-12 schools.
As our next State Superintendent, Melissa Romano will work with Gov. Bullock to establish public preschool in Montana.
Democratic legislators have fought for record investments in our public schools as well as staving off attempts to privatize our public schools.
Elsie Arntzen has supported bills to strip away funding from our public schools, has voted to privatize public education and has voted against public preschool along with Matt Rosendale.
Greg Gianforte has called our public schools a “monopoly” while also donating to groups like the Montana Family Foundation that work against funding for our public schools.
