MDP MasterCard Earns Democrats Dollars with Purchases

Montana Democrats are now offering another way for people to contribute money to the party without taking any additional money out of their pockets.

A MasterCard bearing the Montana Democratic Party’s name, the Democratic logo, and a U.S. flag is a new fund-raising tool. The credit card earns cash for the political party without users spending any additional money, but simply by doing the things they do every day—buying food, clothing, and gas, etc.

The state party earns 1 dollar for every 100 dollars of charges, and between $20 to $40 when a new card is opened and used for the first time. 

Montana is one of 32 states that offer the card, which has an initial 2.9% annual percentage rate. The program, which is coordinated by the Association of State Democratic Chairs, could earn $20,000 to $30,000 for Montana Democrats this year.
