Meet the Big Sky Democrats

Formally chartered by the Montana Democratic Party, although an autonomous entity, the Big Sky Democrats’ goal is to build a statewide network of young people and develop a new generation of Montana leaders. Amid the excitement of a newly elected Democratic governor and legislative body in Helena, the Big Sky Democrats have already built a membership base of nearly 200 young people statewide.

Since our first statewide meeting in Helena in 2005 -- attended by Sen. Baucus, Governor Schweitzer and the Legislative Leadership -- we have built a groundswell of momentum, both in our regional chapters and statewide.

After feeling the sting of defeat in 2004, you can be certain that the Republican Party will provide a formidable challenge to many of our candidates in 2008. But by working together we can turn a new day in Montana into a new era in Montana! We’re going to build the strongest “farm team” of Democrats Montana has ever seen.”
